Question

The Member for Lamu West (Hon. Stanley Muthama, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Education: - Could the Cabinet Secretary— (i) clarify whether the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) can make exceptions to allow qualified primary school teachers who have advanced and obtained degree certificates to be considered for teaching positions in Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and Secondary Schools within the area? (ii) consider increasing employment of teachers on Permanent and Pensionable (PnP) terms in secondary schools within Lamu West Constituency to serve as a motivating factor for teachers to prefer deployment in the constituency, thus helping to address staffing shortages, benefit disadvantaged students, and relieve financially burdened parents from the extra costs of hiring teachers on BoM terms?
