The Member for Lamu West (Hon. Stanley Muthama, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum: - Could the Cabinet Secretary— (i) explain the status of electricity connection and stalled electrification projects to public institutions such as public primary and secondary schools in Lamu West Constituency under the Last Mile Connectivity Programme and Rural Electrification and Renewable Corporation (REREC)? (ii) indicate timelines within which speedy electricity connection will be undertaken in the public institutions considering that lack of electricity connection hinders the effective delivery of services in the constituency? (iii) state the progress and completion dates for the installation of security lighting masts in the Security hot-spots within Lamu West Constituency which are Juhudi, Salama, Mikinduni, Widho, and Kangaja villages? (iv) elaborate on the framework for collaboration between the Kenya Power and Renewable Energy and Rural Electrification Corporation to fastrack the electricity connectivity in the constituency?
