Following the clamour for the review of the constitution which gathered momentum in the 1980s, the Constitution of Kenya Review Act, Chapter 3A of the Laws of Kenya was enacted by Parliament in 2001 to facilitate a comprehensive review of the Constitution by the people of Kenya.
