Electoral Reforms

Have your say

Official invitations on electoral law — open calls first, with the deadline and submission address exactly where you need them.

A practical next step

What is open, when it closes, where to send your views

The three facts needed to act are kept together. Closed calls remain below as a public record.

Open the participation calendar

What counts as an official participation window

Parliament's Clerk names the Bill, committee, deadline and submission address in an official notice. A commission or ministry may publish its own call on a draft before it reaches a House. This page reproduces those notices rather than inventing a second deadline or submission route.

Open now0

Invitations still accepting submissions. Each row names the body that issued it and the deadline that body printed — a Bill before Parliament carries its committee, a draft instrument carries the agency that wrote it.

No invitation on electoral law is open right now.

Announced0

Invitations already published but not open yet. The opening date is kept distinct from the submission deadline.

No invitation on electoral law has been announced for a later opening date. An opening date is only listed once the issuing body has published one.

Closed or cancelled0

Kept visible as the record of what the public was asked about, and when. Closed and officially cancelled invitations are not deleted.

No invitation on electoral law has closed or been cancelled since we began recording. Closed and cancelled invitations are kept here rather than deleted, so this fills in as the record grows.

How to submit

Memoranda go to the body that asked for them, not to Mzalendo.

Route 01 · the one that counts Write to the issuing body Every window above prints that body's own address — the Clerk's postal box and email for a Bill before Parliament, the commission's own for a draft it is consulting on. Send your memorandum there before the deadline, quoting the Bill by its House and number wherever the notice gives one. Addresses are on each invitation above
Route 02 · in addition, not instead Send your views to Mzalendo We run a separate submission form for views you want us to carry. It is not a substitute for writing to the issuing body before the deadline — that is the submission Parliament or the commission actually receives. Open the Mzalendo submission form →
