The Member for Naivasha (Hon. Jayne Kihara, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport: - Could the Cabinet Secretary- (i) clarify whether compensation for land acquired by the Kenya Railways Corporation for the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and Meter Gauge Railway (MGR) by has been fully settled? (ii) provide details on the criteria used to identify legitimate landowners, and clarify whether compensation was determined based on prevailing market rates? (iii) explain why some legitimate landowners not compensated for their land acquired for the construction of the railway and outline measures the Ministry has put in place to ensure that all genuinely affected landowners are duly compensated?
