The Member for Lamu County (Hon. Monicah Muthoni Marubu, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) Clarify why the Ministry is yet to resolve the recurring conflict between herders and farmers, particularly in the Ungu Village of Hindi Ward, Witu and Mkunumbi Wards, given the possibility for these conflicts to escalate into violent clashes between the communities? (ii) State the measures in place by the Ministry to address and mitigate these conflicts and provide details of the regulations in place to manage the activities of herders and farmers to ensure that the property rights of either parties are protected? (iii) Outline if there are any plans by the Ministry to allocate designated grazing corridors for herders?
