Gonzi Rai, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) explain why a contingent of officers from the General Services Unit (GSU) was deployed to the Kazamoyo village in Kwale County on 26th July 2023 to invade and terrorize villagers living on a disputed piece of land within the village, leading to eight people including a minor being seriously injured? (ii) clarify the motives behind the said invasion and further explain why the authorities opted to deploy GSU Officers for the operation instead of relying on police posts located within the area, which could have handled the matter more humanely? (iii) confirm if the Ministry will cover the medical expenses of the eight individuals who were seriously harmed during the invasion?
