Geoffrey Odanga, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport: Could the Cabinet Secretary— (i) Outline the status of the project for Kisumu-Kisian- Busia/Kakira-Malaba-Busitema-Busia expressway which involves the rehabilitation of the existing two- lane single carriageway to bitumen standards and the upgrading of the same into a two-lane dual carriageway over a 104km stretch? (ii) Explain why it has taken inordinately long for the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) to upgrade the road linking Mundika town to the Busia One Stop Border Post into a dual carriageway so as to decongest traffic caused by trucks?
