Aduma Owuor, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) explain the cause and motive of the fire incident that occurred on 18th February 2023 which burnt down the Nyando District Land Offices and destroyed all records maintained by the offices? (ii) state the measures being pursued to facilitate continuity of land transactions in the region covering Nyakach, Nyando and Muhoroni Sub-Counties in particular those that have pending land cases including adjudication in certain regions? (iii) outline measures that the Ministry has taken to ensure that the fire incident is not used as an opportunity to defraud the innocent landowners of their due title deeds?
