The Member for Elgeyo Marakwet County (Hon. Caroline Ng’elechei, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC), the ASALs and Regional Development: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) enumerate the criteria used by the Ministry to categorize regions as Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs)? (ii) clarify whether the Ministry is considering to review the criteria so that a County like Elgeyo Marakwet is categorized as ASAL given that aridity index is high in most parts the County?
