The Member for Loima (Hon. Protus Akujah, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) explain why Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) technicians usually take much time to respond to incidences raised by residents of Loima Constituency? (ii) provide the disciplinary actions that the Ministry plans to take against the officers of Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) for their negligence and unresponsiveness in maintaining and replacing fallen and falling electricity poles along considering that the locals usually lodge their complaints with KPLC regarding the poles to avert any disaster? (iii) explain who will compensate the livestock electrocuted, properties destroyed, and businesses suffering losses occasioned by negligence on the part of Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC)? (iv) state the measures put in place by the Ministry to ensure that KPLC officers urgently replace the disintegrating poles along Lodwar – Lorugum highway and in the entire Loima Constituency to avert looming disaster posed by these poles?
