Question

The Member for Kisumu Central (Hon. Oron Odongo, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Forestry: - (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain measures the Ministry has in place to mitigate the continued release of effluent and other pollutants into Lake Victoria leading to damage and loss of the marine biodiversity? (ii) What steps is the Ministry taking to assess the extent of damage that chemicals discharged into the lake from (iii) What steps has the Ministry taken to eradicate or control the the safety of the fish consumed by Kenyans? (iv) What action is the Ministry taking to ensure the environment is protected from such pollution and more specifically to eradicate the continued stench from the lake?
