Hon Akujah Protus first served a s a member of parliament in the 11th parliament in between 2013 to 2017. After losing his seat in the 2017 elections he transitioned to the county government as an advisor to the Turkana county governor and was re-elected as MP in 2022. He sits in the Administrationa and Internal security committee as well as the National Government Constituencies Development Committee.
