Hon. Amollo, Paul Otiende

Paul Otiende Amollo is a three-term Member of Parliament, having been elected to represent Rarieda Constituency in 2013 and successfully retaining the seat in the 2017 and 2022 general elections. Between 2013 and 2017, he served as a member of the Committee on Regional Integration, the Departmental Committee on Health, the Procedure and House Rules Committee, and the Committee on Delegated Legislation. From 2017 to 2022, he continued to serve on the Committee on Delegated Legislation and was also a member of the Committee on Appointments. He also served as the Vice-Chair of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee in 2020. He has also sponsored the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill 2025.

He paid tribute to General Francis Ogolla. He raised a question to the speaker to inform the house on the status of abducted members of the public before proceeding to vote in the matter of the Finance Bill 2024 to ensure their safety. He stated the importance of discussing all the contents of the Finance Bill 2024, and for the house majority not to diminish discussions based on technicalities. He proposed the rejection of the Finance Bill 2024, stating that it was not in the itnerests of Kenyans, and that their views should be heard.
Challenged the notion of secrecy in recruitment processes, particularly in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) as he was of the opinion that revealing the names of those recruited would ensure fairness and accountability, in line with the Constitution and the Access to Information Act of 2016. Supported the motion to impeach the Deputy President, citing unethical practices and misuse of office. Advocated for a shift to a "police service" characterized by professionalism, transparency, and respect for human rights and highlighted the need to address unlawful actions against citizens. Supported the nomination of the new Inspector-General and praised the his respect for the rule of law and urged him to restore public confidence in the police service by ending impunity and enforcing lawful practices.
