Sen. Boni Khalwale is serving his second term as the Senator for Kakamega County, first elected in 2013, and re-elected in 2022 under the UDA party. He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Ikolomani Constituency from 2002 to 2013. In the Senate, he is the Majority Whip and a member of the Senate Business Committee, the Finance and Budget Committee, and the Energy Committee. Khalwale has sponoserd the Public Transport (Motorcyle Regulation) Bill, (Senate Bills No. 38 of 2023).
