Julius Kibiwott Melly is a three-term Member of Parliament, having been elected to represent Tinderet Constituency in March 2013 and successfully retaining the seat in both the 2017 and 2022 general elections. During his parliamentary tenure, he has taken an active leadership role, notably chairing the Departmental Education Committee—first elected unopposed and serving until mid‑2020, then re-elected as chair in 2022. He sponsored the Basic Education (Amendment) Bill, 2014 during his tenure as Acting Chairperson of the Parliamentary Education Committee.
