Julius Lekakeny Sunkuli is a three-term Member of Parliament, having first been elected to represent Kilgoris Constituency in 1992 and successfully retaining the seat in 1997. He left elective politics in 2002 and later made a comeback in the 2022 general election. During his earlier parliamentary service between 1992 and 2002, Sunkuli held cabinet positions including Minister for Internal Security and later Minister of Defence in the government of President Daniel arap Moi. After a period in diplomatic service and public life, he returned to elective politics in 2022. In the current parliamentary term, he represents Kilgoris Constituency in Narok County and serves as a member of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs.
