Hon. Duncan Maina Mathenge is the Member of Parliament for Nyeri Town Constituency, elected in August 2022 on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. He began his education at Giakanja Secondary School (1978–1981), proceeded to Nyandarua High School for his Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (1982–1983), and later attained a Diploma from the College of Health Professions (1984–1987) as well as a City & Guilds certificate (1986–1987) . Professionally, he served as Chief of Staff and Political Advisor in the Nyeri County Government from 2013 to 2015. Since taking office as MP, he has actively addressed educational challenges, advocating for government bailouts for school debt and allocating over KSh 7 million for science laboratories in constituency schools
