Hon. Mary Maingi is serving her first term as a Member of the National Assembly, having been elected in August 2022 to represent Mwea Constituency under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). However, she has sponsored the Procurement (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which seeks to curb excessive government advertising in print media by shifting emphasis to digital platforms.
