Hon. Umulkher Harun Mohamed is serving her first term in the National Assembly, having been nominated in August 2022 by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to represent youth interests. She does not currently serve on any parliamentary House committees. In March 2024, she sponsored the Sign Language Bill, 2024, which mandates that state agencies and educational institutions provide assistive devices for the deaf and blind and establishes a Kenyan Sign Language Council to regulate interpreters.
