Sen. Danson Mungatana is serving his first term since August 16, 2022, representing Tana River County. He is a member of the Senate Committee on Energy, the Committee on Delegated Legislation, and serves as the Chairperson of the Ad-Hoc Committee to investigate the proliferation of religious organisations and the circumstances leading to the deaths of more than 95 people in Shakahola, Kilifi County. He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Garsen Constituency from 2002 to 2012, during which he held various Assistant Minister positions under the late President Mwai Kibaki’s administration. He has sponsored the Natural Resources (Benefit Sharing) Bill (Senate Bills No. 6 of 2022), the Economic and Social Rights Bill (Senate Bills No. 7 of 2022), and the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No. 5 of 2022).
