Sen. Kathuri Murungi is serving his first term as the elected Senator for Meru County, having been elected on August 16, 2022. Shortly after, on September 8, 2022, he was elected Deputy Speaker of the Senate. In this role, he also serves as the Chairperson of the Liaison Committee and Vice Chairperson of the Procedure and Rules Committee. Prior to joining the Senate, he served two terms as the Member of Parliament for South Imenti Constituency.
