Samuel Gonzi Rai is a veteran Kenyan politician who has served five terms as the Member of Parliament for Kinango Constituency in Kwale County. He was first elected in 1992, and later re-elected in 2002 and 2007, and also in 2012.. He reclaimed the seat again in August 2022. Between 2008 and 2013, he was appointed Assistant Minister for Lands under President Mwai Kibaki’s administration.He has consistently been a member of parliamentary committees including Defence & Foreign Relations, and Public Accounts in recent terms. In 2022, after a five-year hiatus following defeat in 2017, he returned to Parliament, winning in August.
