Sen. Karungo wa Thang’wa is a first-term Senator representing Kiambu County, elected in 2022. He previously served as the Member of County Assembly for Ngewa Ward and was later appointed to the County Executive Committee in Kiambu. In the Senate, he is a member of the Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations and the Committee on Trade, Industrialisation and Tourism. He has sponsored the Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill (Senate Bills No. 31 of 2023), the County Wards (Equitable Development) Bill (Senate Bills No. 20 of 2024), and the County Governments (State Officers’ Removal from Office) Procedure Bill (Senate Bills No. 34 of 2024).
