Post-Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit Debrief for Kenya.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Kenya Support unit, Mzalendo Trust on 2nd October 2023 hosted a post OGP Summit Debrief for Kenya to share experiences on the Summit held in Estonia in early September 2023.

The meeting which brought together government actors, civil society and members of Parliament, signified Kenya’s assumption of the role of Core-Chairship within the OGP Steering Committee.

Dr. Korir Sing'Oei, the Principal Secretary (PS) for Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon Kenya in being entrusted with co-leadership of OGP. He emphasized that the country is committed to delivering outstanding performance and exemplary leadership in this role.

Principal Secretary (PS) State Department for Performance Management and Delivery Services (Office of the Prime CS), Ms. Anne Wang’ombe reiterated the office's commitment to open governance especially now with Kenya's co-leadership of the OGP Steering Committee.

Kakamega Senator, Bony Khalwale called for strengthened OGP local engagement and onboarding of more counties to the OGP initiative. He also lauded Nandi county for the exemplary performance.
